Establishing Paternity

DNA Paternity Testing - Hands

Paternity means being determined to be the biological father.

When a child is born out of wedlock or if no father is listed on the birth certificate the child does not have a legal father/guardian until paternity is established or the mother becomes legally married or assigned a legal guardian.

Establishing paternity often has an important emotional, psychological, financial and social benefit to the child.

Accuracy:

Current scientific methods for determining paternity use the power of DNA to achieve extremely highly accurate results.

All paternity test results and conclusions are founded in statistics and probabilities of comparisons of the DNA from each person.  The greater the number of genetic markers examined the greater the strength of the genetic evidence.  Industry wide, paternity tests can be generated using as few as four markers, to as many as 16 markers, with the latest high-resolution DNA technology.

Our AABB Certified lab uses a 16 marker test that can achieve a probability of great than 99.999%.

Motherless DNA Paternity Testing:

It is not necessary to obtain a DNA sample from the mother for accurate DNA analysis for paternity.  We do however recommend that the mother DNA be included for the analysis.  This will give you the 99.999% accuracy rate that you are looking for.

Fast, Easy and Painless Sample Collection:

Collecting samples for DNA analysis is an easy and painless process.  A sterile swab is rubbed on the inside of the cheek for 30 seconds, placed into an envelope and sent to the DNA paternity testing lab for analysis.

Results:

Results will be available in approximately 2-3 business days after receipt at the DNA testing laboratory.  Express results are also available.
